 Winter 2009 Brouchure
Dear Friends,
As usual may I start this letter by thanking you all for your continued support of Elcock
Holidays. I would like to thank those of you who have been travelling with us for many
years (Some for more than 20) and also the new people that have joined us in the last few.
The result of your backing is that as far as Britain is concerned we are having an excellent
year, with few cancellations. We are very pleased with our Jersey programme with more
people travelling with us than ever before and with many of the departures full. With the
ever increasing cost of fuel and with the low pound against the foreign currency the
European programme is more difficult. Even though some tours have not run we are
delighted that several departures such as Green Spain, Lake Como, Almabtrieb in Austria
and others are running with good numbers. With low interest rates on savings and the
reduction in value of pensions we recognise that it is financially more difficult for people
these days to find extra money to take a Holiday, that makes your support even more
appreciated than normal.
Moving on to this year’s Autumn, Winter and Spring programme, we have continued
with our ever popular Turkey Tinsel Breaks and added a couple of Christmas Crackers!
The Thursford Christmas Show sold out last year so naturally we are running it again.
There are new Irish and Scottish tours and British breaks with some great itineraries. We
recognise that many people liked our London Showstopper weekends and some we have
included both popular shows still running with the addition of two new ones that should
prove to be winners. The tickets are in a good position in the theatres and the Hotel is
central on the side of the Thames.We have added two special departures by Air, a Jersey
Turkey and Tinsel tour and a short break to the Scilly Isles in the spring. For those of you
that like Blackpool but enjoy a bit of luxury there is a choice of two tours at the Imperial
Hotel and we have include two Warner breaks which have been popular in the past. We
are pleased to have secured one of our most popular English destinations, Scarborough
for Christmas and are returning to our Austrian favourite Söll for a further year.
IRest assured that we haven’t forgotten our motto, ‘Holidays with the Personal Touch’
which starts when you contact our offices and continues with our drivers that are there to
look after you on Holiday. It only remains for me to wish you an early Happy Christmas
and prosperous new Year and we look forward to seeing you in 2009/10.
