Cardiff Capital City of Wales

Summary

Cardiff is a port city on the south coast of Wales, where the River Taff meets the Severn Estuary. It was proclaimed the nation’s capital in 1955. The revitalized waterfront at Cardiff Bay includes the Wales Millennium Centre, home of the national opera, orchestra, theater and dance companies, plus shops at Mermaid Quay. Architect Richard Rogers’ strikingly modern Senedd building houses the Welsh National Assembly.

Enjoy walking through the Victorian Arcades with endless selection of lovely shops and restaurants . All the top high street names as well as John Lewis are at your feet on Queen Street.

If you like culture visit the Castle and The National Museum of Wales. Great works of art and paintings from the great impresionists.

Bute Park lies behind the Castle with regular boat trips to the bay along the river Taff, skirting the City and Principality Stadium.
